Autumn colours and getting out of everyday life were the reason. Bakonybel - or Lake Hubertlaki the destination.
The hike was planned weeks before. There has to be a lead time at my age, there's not much that can be done spontaneously if it's going to be a all day trip. We started off together with 2 friends, comfortable 08:30 on Saturday morning.
The hike itself wasn't that large, but could be done in just a few hours at an easy pace (and lots of stops to take photos).
If you've been following me on Vero for a while or know my old 500px account, you probably also know Paul. Well, unfortunately he had a problem in the spring and summer and can't manage long distances yet. But he is on the mend! I hope he will be there again in the future.
First thing we learned as soon as we arrived at the parking lot: October 21st is much too early.
So we set off towards the lake in the most beautiful green surroundings. The route was well known to us. Above all, beautiful mushrooms and fresh air along the way.
When we arrived at the lake, we looked for a place to capture the chaos (and ended up in the same place I already used as a spot in summer 2022). I didn't take that many pictures around the lake, the chaos was difficult to get in a frame. Again my lack of being able to shoot woodlands.
There are also no pictures of the extensive picnic. But I can tell you, we had next to other things also coffee and Sachertorte with us! It couldn't be better, right? Shortly before our trip it was my friends birthday.
On the way back - we chose a different route, then suddenly the path came to an end. A look at the map showed that the next big hiking trail had to be somewhere ahead. And of course what happens when you leave the path and walk straight through the forest? Sure - there's a loud crunch and crackle behind a tree trunk - suddenly a deer stands 10 meters in front of you - turns around and sprints away before you can say camera. Or have it from the holder on your backpack. So - no picture from that either.
Back at the parking lot, and a little later with a warm meal in our stomachs, we took a little detour with the car - and stopped at the Amber Fountain (Holy Fountain) Chapel in Bakonybél. A nice place. The small chapel always has a beautiful reflection in the water.
The unknown man was sitting there for quiet a while - just starring.
After that visit at the chappel, it was over - the day that promised distance from everyday life - and held despite the lack of colours.
